  • 16 oz (450g) mushrooms, finely chopped: The star of the dip—mushrooms provide that rich, earthy flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil: Used for sautéing the onions and mushrooms, adding a subtle fruity flavor.
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley: Adds brightness and freshness, balancing the richness of the cheeses.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste: Season the dip to your liking to enhance all the flavors.

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures that your dip will cook evenly and come out with a perfectly golden top.

Prepare the Mushrooms

  • In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onions and garlic to the skillet, and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until the onions are translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
  • Add the finely chopped mushrooms to the skillet and cook for about 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are tender and most of the liquid has evaporated. This step is crucial to avoid a watery dip.
  • Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly before adding it to the rest of the ingredients.

Mix the Dip

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Add the cooked mushroom mixture, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup of the grated Parmesan cheese, and the chopped parsley. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are fully combined.

Transfer to Baking Dish

  • Transfer the dip mixture into a baking dish, spreading it out evenly to ensure it bakes uniformly.
  • Top the dip with the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and the rest of the Parmesan cheese. This will create that irresistible golden, cheesy crust.

Bake the Dip
